Downbeach Film Festival

               We wish to thank everyone for a very successful festival.

We wish to thank all the participants and volunteers who made the 2009 festival such a success. We also want to give a shout out to organizations and companies that helped us out:

  • Resorts Atlantic City for letting us use the wonderful Screening Room.
  • Heather Colache and Jill Barlow of the Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority for their continued and much needed support. 
  • Rowan University for providing tons of eager volunteers.
  • A special shout out to Paul Russo, our Rowan intern who is a tech genius.
  • The Taj Mahal and Borgata for providing rooms for our guests.
  • The Taj Mahal for the reception room which followed the awards ceremony.
  • Equity Communications and WAYV who conducted live remotes from the festival this year.
  • Megan's Pub for hosting the opening night party.
  • The Crazy Uncle Band.

Though we missed Martin Kove, who bowed out due to illness, we appreciated hosting Jeanette Roxborough and Louis Mandylor, of Bare Knuckles. Louis was in three of our films. In addition to Bare Knuckles, he starred in Gerald and In the Eyes of a Killer. Kudos also to Greg Santarsiero, of Ice Grill USA. We hope he has another film coming soon. Another high spot was meeting Gerald screenwriter, Tim Gallagher, who has a local connection; his parents live in Ventnor.

And thanks to all the filmmakers who make the festival possible. Keep filming.

· Reception at 9:30 p.m.: Megan's Good Grub and Pub, Indiana Avenue and the Boardwalk.  

Saturday, October 17

· Film Block 1, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. : $6 ($4 pre-sale; $3 pre-sale each groups four or more)

· Film Block 2, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.: $5 ($3 pre-sale; $2 pre-sale each groups four or more)

· Panel Discussion, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. $10 ($7 pre-sale; $5 pre-sale each groups four or more)
